ABOUT ME

Sarah

Everything I know about living a centered life, I learned from working with clay. Patience, acceptance, growth, and mindfulness are all spiritual traits I practice daily in the studio. Creating with clay is my spiritual practice, and it’s fitting that most of my work is Judaica, inspired by my religious and cultural traditions.

After teaching and creating pottery in the United States, Israel, and Poland, I’ve called Montreal home since 2016. My pottery is designed for Jewish life-cycle events, holidays, and everyday use. Every summer, I pause my own projects to teach hand-building at a Jewish summer camp in the Pocono Mountains. Nurturing artistic expression in others brings me profound joy and plays a crucial role in my own creative growth.

My husband, a congregational rabbi, and I share thoughtful conversations about Jewish ritual and community, which inspire many of my artistic projects. Together, we have three wonderful children, each following their own passions. Our lives are enriched by the companionship of our dog, Cora, and our three cats, Fievel, Lucy, and Emma.

Through my work, I hope to contribute to the ongoing conversation about Jewish tradition, making it more meaningful for individuals and fostering connection for those who engage with it.
